Next door's Mickey Mouse tree is gone

Neighbour P stuck his head over the fence upon hearing the dulcet tones of the new chainsaw and during the man-to-man conversation he usually has with OH let on that his wife would dearly like to see the overgrown cordyline in their garden gone. I always call it the Palm Tree; OH calls it the Mickey Mouse tree because it has two crowns. He and the neighbour checked there were no active birds' nests, then OH dragged the extension cable across to their property, and the saw, and inside 15 minutes, the thing was down and chopped up, the stump tidied up so that it will take a pot or two. Neighbour P, he of the burgled van, and his wife were very happy.

OH has now come in for the Grand Prix, and it's started to rain anyway. Good for the tatties, and the waterbutts, almost empty last week, will also fill up. Time for a cup of tea, a chocolate, a glutenfree Cherry Bakewell tart for OH and mountains of tissues for Little Miss Snotface here.
