An appropriate carnival party ditty

In Germany they're celebrating carnival, and ever since reading about the beef scandal, I haven't been able to stop singing loudly, in German, "There's a horse in the corridor, a real horse in the corridor, oh yes, a horse in the corridor, that is so cute. There's a horse in the corridor, a real horse in the corridor, oh yes, a horse in the corridor, and it is looking at meeeeee."

The German press has been quite blasé about the issue, pointing out how much healthier horse meat is, with less fat and more iron than beef, and implying that the Brits, especially those poor unsophisticates who buy processed meat dishes instead of sourcing hand-reared veal mince from the deli butcher, had actually been quite lucky.

Today, the European dimensions became a little more obvious, including the strong possibility that German consumers have also been eating horse, and the media jokes at the expense of those idiot Brits with their already-horsey faces have subsided and given way to some concern. I wonder when Germans discover that Brits aren't worried about horse as such but about the stuff those horses were medicated with, or carcasses with horse AIDS entering the food chain. The collective freak-out of my people will be epic. Once they've sobered up after Ash Wednesday.
