A mixture of romanesco broccoli and red cabbage seedlings.

Leftover cabbage seedlings plus a mix of exotic salad plants (mizuna and radicchio) plus carrots at the back. These are being utterly devastated by snails and I suspect the narrow raised beds aren't helping. Neither is the weed-suppressant cardboard, which probably acts as a slug sanctuary during the day.

I gave in and bought 3 courgette seedlings from Lidl, and these are now doing very well and are starting to produce fruit.

Our pear tree, Doyenne de Comice. Had lots of fruit on but then succumbed to June drop. Which is just as well -- I'd much prefer that tree to settle in.

One of the mizuna seedlings, a Japanese salad. I gave it a plastic collar made of plastic pop bottles. Not that it worked...

If you look carefully, you can see the future grapes! Should be a very decent harvest.

That was one whole afternoon shovelling chickenshit back and forth. Smelled like a barnyard afterwards.

The mint corner has woken up! These always take a long time to persuade me they're not dead yet.

Sweetcorn is in but is acting a bit meh this year. The neighbours' sweetcorn plants have all taken off whereas ours are bimbling along not doing very much at all...

My pride and joy this year: massive strawberry harvests, day after day. Keep them coming, girls and boys!

Returning with an old leek harvest and tons of plastic pots we found in the old shed on the new plot. Bonus! Means we can retire our own splintery ones.
