Recycling 101: Fence into Planters!

A friend has kindly dropped off half of her old fence -- see the post from almost three weeks ago, before the nuclear winter reasserted itself. The other half is still at hers, for us to pick up. Initially, this was all meant to be chopped up for firewood but I discovered that a lot of the wood, denailed and trimmed at the ends, was mostly still usable.

So I started turning the former fence panels and posts into 5ft by 2ft planters for the front garden. It's a bit of a job, involving a whole can of Lidl "dark brown" wood preservative, several battery recharges for the drill and more screws than we have, but very satisfying.
