Early August garden impressions

Newly created bed w roses and Japanese chrysanthemums filling in nicely now.

Neuroticat is very happy we're back. Won't leave our side when we're out.

Our impressive harvest of 5 Discovery apples from the new tree, planted last year.

Glutenfree and glutenfull bottletops, with accidental zumpkin, harvested a few days ago.

Big chives harvest after we came back -- 130g.

Natasha, the muntjac skull.

Neuroticat postdinner on the patio.

View from the poolhouse over the hedge side of the garden.

Big seedling repotting session: salvia, cape gooseberry, Livingstone daisies and something else I grew from seed but don't know what it is since the rain washed the not-so permanent marker pen off my labels.

With sea buckthorn plants at the back. And OH's oak sapling. Not sure where he's intending to plant this one... At the back: the remaining grapevine waiting to be planted somewhere nearer the house.

Sunday morning coffee with OH's latest purchase, a paleo diet book (no grain, no dairy, but loads of meat)

Tante Ju in her nest, shortly before she got seriously rained on and moved house high up into the birch where she and hubby are currently busy rebuilding the nest. Very funny to watch: one twig at a time.
