| Asiatic lilies now in flower. We've got tons of them -- all out now, being loud and orange. We have a neighbour across the street, who has never voluntarily talked to us even though we've meticulously wished her good morning, afternoon and evening every time we've bumped into her, probably because our Tom-and-Barbara antics are being viewed with great suspicion. But yesterday, she actually initiated a conversation about our 3 new home-made planters out front, now filled with soil and all manners of random beautiful blooming things, and the window boxes laden with ripe strawberries and our big blue lily pot by the front door, and she called them all "lovely". We were thrilled that she made conversation and threw across equally massive compliments about her begonias. |
