I have finally completed my recycling project: a 20-pair leaning shoe shelf made out of old fence panels. For weeks I have sawn, sanded, oiled and paintwashed, measured (vaguely) lengths and 10-degree angles, and drilled and screwed boards together.
OH helped me put it up and also advised on a last-minute addition of two cross braces. I can't stop looking at it. It's actually standing and it is massive. It looks like something out of Pirates of the Caribbean, all bent and twisted driftwood, and its four shelves are full of my funky boots and shoes.
When I've finally found my mobile -- bet the sofa has eaten it again -- I shall take a picture of it and post it.
