Storm check

Before our tea, I loaded up the cart with surplus cardboard and we trundled off to the plot to check whether our shed was still there. The gales this week have been amazingly intense.

We needn't have worried. All was more or less in order, apart from some mini tornado that had punched through the lupins, the comfrey and the bolting spinach.

It looks as though the cabbages and kales have outraced the flea beetles. These hate drizzle anyway so the rain recently was good news.

No more new strawberries - not warm and sunny enough yet.
