Monday: Allergy

Took the last dose of antibiotics Sunday night. Had developed impressive black hairy tongue -- some A/B-related side effect. Next morning woke up with swollen eyes -- bulging watery eyelids, big slushy bags under the eyes. Plus an itchy rash everywhere. Great stuff! Medical term: angioedema with urticaria. Well delayed too -- no obvious immediate cause. Could have been caused by anything: plant sap from weeding. A sun allergy. A very late reaction to the antibiotic. That handful of brazil nuts from Sunday night. Or the dressed crab from the local fishmonger for dinner? Popped an antihistamine and hoped for the best.
