Sunday: Blitzed the plot

Morning: planted out and staked several aubergines and tomatoes in the garden. Also finally in the ground: anemones, antirrhinum, lupins, monardas. Made up one windowbox with strawberries and nasturtiums. Then went to the allotment. Spent the afternoon digging over and weeding the plot. Planted out some cavolo nero, more leeks, onions, 2 aubergine plants. Newbie L. popped round -- he practically lives on the allotment site -- and was given loads of surplus plants, esp. herbs. He was very pleased. Had to explain what an aubergine was though.

Wandered back happy -- airways are not yet clear but have enough air back in my lungs to pull a four-hour digging shift.
