Random Recycling Centre speaking, how may I help?

Still on break. Neighbour P is ripping out his upstairs bathroom today. There is a lot of scrap wood and an acrylic bathtub about to go to the council tip. Do we want it?

Of course we do! What a question. We'll (well, I will) cut up the wood and burn it in our future stove. The bathtub will be sunk into an allotment corner and become a haven for frogs and hedgehogs who in turn will eat all of our slugs.

There is the small matter of getting the heavy bathtub onto the allotment, but P is prepared to at least drive it to the allotment gate, to save the two of us looking like travelling folk rattling down the street with a bathtub strapped to our handcart.

I am dimly aware that if we ever move on from this plot, we'll have just added another big piece of junk. But never mind.

We're still, by the way, casting around for solutions to our leaky-waterbutt problem. Last week, OH asked a US supplier of plastic industrial-barrel liners for a quote and while the liners themselves were reasonable, the postage was the same price as the order itself, which was totally unreasonable. It was probably the company's way of telling domestic customers to push off with their puny little time-wasting deliveries.

Carry on searching. No doubt we'll have found a solution to the problem as soon as the rains stop again.
