Did 5 hours of paperwork until the early evening, on a Bank Holiday Monday!, then decided it was time to stop and do something a bit more rewarding. Went down to the Shed or "Poolhouse" to carry on painting a project but discovered that my fine motor skills were shot for the day and that nothing was coming together the way it should.
So put it to one side and set up the mitre saw instead. Sawed up the leftover architrave to make another picture frame. I'd cut, glued and painted one in bright glossy red before and that looks really decent! Today, I managed to cut 2 sides, then ran out of wood. Note to self: buy more architraves.
Gentle sawing to the rhythms of my Best of Swing CD. This is the sort of crude, brainless muscle work that I'm still capable of even when the rest of me can't seem to do anything right.
Then slapped a layer of Japlac purple gloss on the pieces and these are now drying. Next up: repairing an almost finished painting that had seen some paint spatters. Botched that one too: now the colours run. Time to wrap things up and turn in.
