Empty cisterns and exhausted wells

A little TS Eliot to underline our water situation: like most allotmenteers up and down the country, the week or so of dry weather meant that we've all used up our water storage. OH and I spent two hours each evening on the plot, trotting down to the river, filling buckets, cans and other containers and dragging them back to the plot with the handcart. We tend to use between 100 and 200 litres each night -- it adds up.
